Description: Using kid-friendly versions of the plays, students will explore the history, literary and dramatic elements of some of Shakespeare's most enduring works. Students will be introduced to the world of Shakespeare through a variety of interactive activities such as creating puppets, reader's theater, dramatic interpretations of key scenes, and more.

Shakespeare Can Be Fun Homework

If you did not finish Much Ado About Nothing last week for homework, please do it this week. Also, please finish the fill-in-the-blank notes if you did not get to do so in class.

Shakespeare Homework

Please memorize the first half (the first page) of Macbeth's "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow..." quote from class on Friday.
 
We started working on our own version of Macbeth...coming soon!

Macbeth Shakespeare Can Be Fun
Students started Macbeth this week in class. They learned key characteristics of Shakespeare's comedies and tragedies, background info about King James and the history behind the play, and started discussing some of the main themes. As we read, students will also keep track of and study some of the most famous quotes from the play.

Students started reading The Tempest this week. As we read, we will unravel the complicated cast of characters and look at character motivation. We will also consider how the setting affects the characters and the plot.
