Kim Lancaster
Kim Lancaster has served as the program director for APEX since its inception and got her start as a homeschooling parent, having homeschooled her two sons for over 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Policies Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. Kim is also a professional musician, having taught private flute and voice lessons for over twenty-five years and singing professionally in the Boulder-based a capella choir Ars Nova Singers where she also served as the Board President and soprano section leader. During the summer and Christmas breaks, Kim directs a flute choir made up of her graduated flute students that performs at local senior living centers. Kim is passionate about bringing together homeschool students and public school resources to create a dynamic experience that enriches everyone involved. In her not-so-easy-to-come-by “spare time” Kim enjoys reading, listening to classic jazz, sending emails (not really…), watching reruns of old sitcoms, and hanging out with her two grown sons and two snuggly kitties.
