Shelly Cox–Robie is thrilled beyond belief to be returning to her APEX family!  Shelly has spent over thirty years in more than 65 shows as a professional actress, singer and dancer in national tours and local theatre including Boulder’s Dinner Theatre and Heritage Square Music Hall. Shelly garnered two Henry Awards for Best Actress in a Musical in “Ragtime” and “The King and I”. While she loves being on stage, she discovered being “on the other side” is even more rewarding. Shelly began directing musicals for local middle and high school theatres including Niwot High School and Boulder High School over 12 years ago which, in turn, led her to pursue her teaching certificate for Drama. She has a BA in Theatre from The University of Colorado. Shelly has learned so much in her lifetime on the stage and loves passing on the knowledge she has gained. What better way to do this than to teach young people all about the Dramatic Arts.  When she’s not on stage or directing, Shelly enjoys time at her mountain home with her husband and her two amazing children. She loves running her dogs, practicing yoga, paddle boarding, creating (sewing, knitting, making jewelry, weaving…..she just loves making things).Her craziest hobby is beekeeping.
