Bio:

Amy Oien is dedicated to helping students understand the world around them through hands-on experimentation and discussion. She taught children of all ages for many years in Waldorf enrichment and environmental education settings. She returned to school to earn her teaching license in 2013 and has been with Apex since 2014. Amy homeschooled her daughter through graduation and is passionate about supporting homeschooling families on their own journeys. She received her BA in Environmental Studies from Prescott College and her MA in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver in 2015. She is licensed to teach secondary science and K-6. Having lived in Colorado since 1984, Amy loves spending time in the mountains, hiking and birdwatching. She also enjoys fiber arts and spending time with her husband and two young adult children.
